Living in Upstate South Carolina

The 10 counties known as the upstate are located in the Westernmost portion of South Carolina. We are centrally located along Interstate 85 or the “I-85 Corridor”, as it is known, which travels between Atlanta and Charlotte. We are the fastest growing region of South Carolina. Since the initial investment by BMW, many foreign and domestic companies have established their work forces and/or headquarters in the upstate.

Pickens County specifically sits at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains situated amidst Hartwell Lake , Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee. This region of the state is full of opportunities for recreation such as fishing, boating, golf and river rafting. The upstate is also fast becoming known for its food and dining experiences. Our healthcare is state-of-the-art and second to none. This region has set itself apart from many areas of the country as far as higher education and sports attraction and accomplishment. Additionally, there are all the local festivals, shopping opportunities and not to mention the history of the region to explore.
